Corus was seeking a truly eclectic way to let Canada know that the 24-hour Adult Swim channel was in Canada, with all the same content they loved from the American Adult Swim. Starting with their annual Upfronts, MPOSSIBLE brought in the Human Claw, a 10′ by 10′ replica of a claw machine where the people become the claw. Attendees were strapped in, raised, lowered in to select a mystery box prize, then brought back out. The event was so popular it was brought back again for Toronto’s Fan Expo, where the general public were invited to take part this time over four days in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
THE RESULTS: The Human Claw was the hit of the Upfronts, with even celebrity visitors taking a turn. At Fan Expo, 1,737 attendees took part, the absolute maximum possible as the line was full immediately until we shut it down every day of the event. The Human Claw was shared across social media and featured throughout event media coverage.
